Poppy Playtime Ch 2 Walkthrough Part 5: Mommy Long Legs
In part 5 of my Poppy Playtime Ch 2 walkthrough I will guide you through defeating Mommy Long Legs. Additionally, I will also show you how to get all trophies, tapes, notes, and achievements. The achievements I will go over in this guide are Bad Hiding Spot, Is She Gone Yet?, You’re Fired, Avid Listener, Avid Reader, Whistleblower, Undefeated, and Ahead of Schedule. Hide & Seek
Picking up from part 4, we have just completed the circuit puzzle after Statues. When you enter the vent it will collapse dropping you into a dark hallway. Make your way to the end of the hall, look up and grab the yellow bar. As soon as you reach for it Mommy Long Legs will come out of nowhere. Quickly move away from her and stand next to the door. Mommy will yell at you for a bit and then announce a new game, Hide & Seek. As she starts counting down the door will open.
As soon as you can you will want to run down the stairs, you should be safe as long as you get to the next area before she hits 0. From here she will not pursue you just yet. Go towards the left and continue straight, the path will be easy to follow here. When you get to some stairs take them up and go through the hole in the wall. When you drop into the next room turn left and there is another hole to go through. Continue straight and you will drop down into another hallway. At the end turn left and you will come to a conveyor belt.
Now before we take this to the next area I must tell you something. The final trophy will be at the end across from the conveyor belt, but it can easily be missed if you let the belt drop you into the next area. So make sure to go slowly through the next area so you can get the trophy. Once you are ready pull the lever on the wall and the belt will activate and door will open. As you go around the corner slow down, and look straight. Hiding in the back will be the Mommy Long Legs Trophy. Collect it and then you can jump down the hole.
Cable Puzzle
When you drop down look to the left of the large, closed metal door. On the floor will be the next document, the Warrenbach Construction. Continue down the next hall and open the next two doors you come to. Now you will be in a room with four colored levers. Go to the middle of the room and look up, here is a yellow bar we can pull ourselves up to. Remember this place because this is where we will needto hide from Mommy Long Legs later.
Look around and you will see one colored cable going through each electric box. These boxes will also have a number on them. The red cable should be 1, green is 3, blue is 2, and yellow is 4. Now drop down and pull the red lever, blue lever, green lever, and yellow lever. This should open the door in front of you. Be warned that when you go around the corner, and get about halfway down the hall, Mommy Long Legs will appear to chase you and sound like a terrifying monster.
There is an achievement you can get for being caught right away called “Bad Hiding Spot.” However, doing this means you will not get the “Undefeated” achievement for no deaths. So you will need to play the game at least twice to get everything. Anyways, you will want to quickly run back to the room with the levers. Then pull yourself up into the hiding spot. If you stay up here for 30 seconds you will get the achievement “Is She Gone Yet?” Once the music starts to fade it will be safe to drop down.
Furnace Puzzle
Now you can actually continue down the hall into the next area. Here we must make a new gear to fix the door mechanism. Go towards the wall and to the left of the stairs will be the gear mold. Collect it and then go up the stairs and to the right side of the machine. There will be the mold slot you can insert it into. Then go down the stairs and turn left, here is the furnace with its doors closed. Before turning this on, I want to let you know about another achievement.
To get this you will want to open the furnace doors and run inside after turning the furnace on. This will kill you and give you the achievement “You’re Fired.” To turn on the furnace look for the green power outlet on the other wall. Collect a charge and place it in the receiver on the furnace to start it. Wait for it to power off and then you can open the door. I recommend moving the barrels out of the way of the entrance, as sometimes they can make the doors act weird.
Now go inside the furnace to collect the newly made gear. Before leaving, make sure that one door is firmly closed. This is because the furnace will be our next hiding spot, so by having only one door we need to close it will make hiding easier. Be careful as you leave because the door will just open if you walk into it.
Now make your way to the door mechanism and place the gear inside. Then pull the lever to open the door. Be ready for Mommy to appear again when you proceed down the walkway, as soon as you see her run straight to the furnace. Once inside close the door and wait patiently for Mommy to leave, which is indicated by the music no longer playing.
Final Mommy Long Legs Chase
Before we continue to the final area, I want to mention something in this area. When you exit the furnace go down the left hallway and look for the white door. Remember where this is because Mommy is going to chase us again, and this time we cannot hide in the furnace. So this door will be our escape. Now that you know that you can continue through the door we opened.
You will come to a dead end with a large lever. Be warned that as soon as you pull the lever, Mommy will spawn. So I recommend standing back near the walkway in preparation to run back. When you run down the walkway keep right as Mommy’s hand will pop up on the left. Then when you get to the webs turn right and go through the door I pointed out earlier. Keep straight and then jump down the hole.
As you land turn around, go around the corner, and enter the pipe. Inside the pipe you will want to take the first left, and then take the first right around the corner. Keep straight and when you get out of the pipe look up, grab the yellow bar and pull yourself up. Then swing forwards to land on the floor, turn right and now there is another huge hole we must swing across. Quickly grab the yellow bar and swing across and run straight. Look for a hole on the right and jump through.
When you land pull the lever to the right of the large door to open it, and run straight through as soon as you can. As you go down this next hallway Mommy will disappear for a second. You will want to put your blue hand on the hand scanner ASAP to start opening it. Then Mommy will reappear running at you. Keep calm and get ready to crouch through the door as soon as it opens enough. Then pull the lever on the machine in front of you and run to the right side of the room near the closed gate. Mommy will then run into the machine and meet her demise.
Go to the Train
The gate in the room will now open and you can take the stairs to leave. Just continue and after jumping across the broken walkway and going up a long staircase you will find the final tape. This tape has the Log 08502 video which you can watch on the nearby TV. Doing this should give you the “Avid Listener” achievement. Continue forwards and you will come to the walkway above the Game Station and then to the control room.
On the left side of the room by the lever is the “Employee Instructions” document. Collect this, then go to the right to collect the “Formal Request Form” document. Now look to Poppy and collect the final part of the train code to free her from the webs. With that you should get the “Avid Reader” achievement. Once Poppy is done talking to you the door to the other walkway will open and you can make your way to the train platform. When you take the slide down exit the room and you will now be on the train platform.
Go left and use your green hand on the hand scanner to open the train’s door. Then you can enter the train and it is time to put in the code. By looking at the pieces of the code in your inventory you can put it all together. First press the arrow twice so the icons are in this order, Bunzo, Kissy Missy, Cat-Bee, and Mommy Long Legs. Next press the color button under each icon to change their colors. Bunzo should be red, Kissy Missy Yellow, Cat-Bee red, and Mommy Long Legs blue. Finally press them in this order, Mommy Long Legs which is 4, Kissy Missy which is 2, Bunzo which is 1, and Cat-Bee which is 3.
All the icons should now turn green and the train will turn on. To get the train started pull the yellow lever in front of you. The train will then begin to move down the track. As we are moving here you can get an achievement called “Whistleblower” by pulling the whistle three times. The mechanism to trigger the whistle is hanging from the ceiling and has a blue handle. From here you will get some dialogue from Poppy as the train proceeds down the track.
Eventually the train will start speeding out of control so we will need to pull the emergency brake. However, you cannot use the break until the alarm is going off and the text appears. So patiently wait for that, then grab the brake and don’t stop pulling. It will seem like nothing is happening but eventually you will pull it down. Then the game will come to an end as you get knocked out.
If you managed to complete the game without dying you will get the “Unbeatable” achievement. If you finished in 45 minutes or less you will get the “Ahead of Schedule” achievement.
