Poppy Playtime Ch 2 Walkthrough Part 3: Wack-A-Wuggy

In part 3 of my Poppy Playtime Ch 2 walkthrough I will go over the Wack-A-Wuggy game and more! There are some other puzzles we need to do after the game, as well as some trophies and tapes to collect. The achievements I will go over in this guide are Shot in the Dark and Sugar Rush. Wack-A-Wuggy

The next game we are playing is Wack-A-Wuggy, or Whack-A-Wuggy. I am not sure which is correct since the game shows the first spelling, but an achievement uses the second one. Anyways, once you pull the lever at the Game Station it will open the doors to Wack-A-Wuggy. This time we will be able to go straight to the game room with no troubles. Be warned that when you walk into the sand pit the door will close behind you. So before going in I will explain how the game works so you can easily beat it.

Now I played the game on Steam, so I am not sure if this is true on console. But the flashlight was broken at some point throughout the various patches. So it is impossible to turn it on, it just does not work. You can check if this is true for you by opening the menu, and look at the controls. There should be a button to activate the flashlight, press that button and see if it works.

The reason I am pointing this out is because, there is an achievement called “Shot in the Dark.” You get this by completing Wack-A-Wuggy without using the flashlight. So you should get it by default if the flashlight does not work. But if you do have a flashlight, make sure to turn it off if you want this achievement. Now I will go over how the game works.

How Wack-A-Wuggy Works

Huggy Wuggy dolls can spawn in any of the tunnels around you.
They will crawl towards the opening and emerge when they get to the end.
Dolls at the end of the tunnel will start growling and then attack you. Getting attacked will be game over.
You must hit the dolls with the Grab Pack to make them retreat.
You must survive for 2 minutes.

Tips & Tricks to Beat Wack-A-Wuggy

Now that you know how the game works I will give you some tips for surviving this game. Of the 3 games, this one is probably the hardest because the dolls really speed up near the end. If you are able to use the flashlight it can help you see better, unless you want the achievement of course. But if the flashlight is broken then turn up your brightness in the graphics settings. What you will want to do is listen carefully, as the Huggy Wuggy dolls are loud as they crawl up the tunnels. Try to look at the tunnels that sound the loudest as those dolls will be the closest.

Of course this will become much more difficult as the game continues, as sound will come from all direction. Once that happens you will want to prioritize the dolls who are sitting outside the tunnel, and you especially always want to hit the ones that are growling first. Something else to make things easier, is if you miss then immediately use your other hand to hit the doll. It will be difficult to see, but try looking at the tunnel outlines for their mittens grabbing the outside.

Now about hitting the dolls in those tunnels. Sometimes if they are still far in the tunnel your hit will not register. If this happens just move onto the next doll and come back to it. Aiming towards the middle of the tunnels will help your aim, but the hardest tunnels to hit are the top row ones due to the angle. For those just try to aim for their heads to hit them successfully. Make sure to always be looking around and turning to each wall so no dolls can sneak up on you. It is easy to get stuck looking at one wall too long, and then you get a surprise from behind.

Leave the Game Room

After you survive for 2 minutes the game will end and Mommy Long Legs will give you the next part of the code. Then a door will open for you to leave. However, the staircase here is in extreme disrepair so we cannot go up it normally. Instead take the first steps up until you get to the hole. Then look up to the side and you will see a trophy sitting on the upper steps. To get there look at the ceiling and grab the yellow bar. Next start pulling yourself up, but use the movement controls to move towards the steps with the trophy. Then let go to land on the steps and collect the Kissy Missy Trophy.

Now you can grab the yellow bar and pull yourself to the top and land safely. But don’t move on just yet, there is an achievement we can get here called “Sugar Rush.” Here there is a cardboard cutout of Candy Cat. Press the button to listen to all the dialogue and you will get the achievement. Continue forwards and you will come to a new area with yellow walls, a track, and gates. Go right and take the first left and walk up to the closed gate. Then you will be introduced to Kissy Missy who will open the gate for you.

Cart Puzzle

Crouch through the gate and continue forwards, then go left and you will find Barry the cart and a new puzzle. You can leave Barry there for now as we first want to open all the gates. Look on the wall and you will find the power outlet we can use to get past the first part of the puzzle. We will need to move fast for this next part, as the charge only has 10 seconds of use. Collect a charge and then go across the track and put it in the receiver here. This will open the gate, walk past the gate and take the charge back from the receiver and put it in the next one here.

If you get trapped in the room with the receiver, there is a vent on the wall you can use to get out. Once you get past the second gate continue forwards and you will be at the next part of the track. Pull the lever to open the gate and now we can use the same power outlet for this next part. This time the second receiver will be a bit farther down than the first. Quickly collect a charge from the power outlet, then run to the receiver right of the lever we just flipped. Place the charge in this receiver and run past the gate that opens.

Now collect the charge back from the receiver, go around the corner and place the charge in the next receiver. Run past the gate and flip the lever here to open the next gate. If you got caught in the previous area there is a vent there you can use to escape. Now go towards the TV and on the floor is a blue tape with the Marcas Brickley Reprimanding (Potential Problem) video.

For the final part of the puzzle we need to power both receivers on the walls between the tracks. But you can only take one charge from a power outlet at a time, so we need two to complete this puzzle. First go back to the first outlet, and run back to the TV and place the charge in the receiver here. Then you can take the charge from the outlet that is no longer blocked by the gate, and put it on one of the receivers next to the track.

Next take the charge back from the first receiver and place it in the other receiver next to the track. As soon as both have a charge the gate will open permanently, it will not close once the charge runs out. Now you can pull Barry along the track and once you get to the downhill part step to the side. Barry will then go speeding down the track and break the boards allowing you to continue on.

Go forwards and drop through the hole in the floor and you will be back in the Wack-A-Wuggy hallway. Take the stairs up and now you are back at the game station. Pull the lever with the blinking light to open the door to the final game, Statues. I will go over this game in part 4 of my Poppy Playtime Ch 2 walkthrough.
