Part 17: Burntrap Ending Guide FNAF Security Breach

Welcome to my Burntrap Ending Guide in FNAF Security Breach! I will tell you how to unlock this ending, and breakdown how Burntrap, Chica, Monty, Freddy, Roxy, and Molten Freddy work. This is the hardest ending to get but I will give you tips and tricks to easily get through it so you can survive the night.

How to Get Burntrap Ending

WARNING! When you go to do the Burntrap ending the game will make an autosave. Make sure to create a save at the save station in the Atrium before doing this ending. If you do not then your most recent save will always be in the Burntrap area and you cannot go back to the Pizzaplex. 

To get the Burntrap ending you must have upgrade Freddy with Chica’s voice box and Monty’s claws. So if you are missing one of those then go to my decommission Monty or Chica guides first. Once Freddy has those two upgrades we can now access a secret area to get the Burntrap ending. First make sure that Freddy has full battery as we will need him. To get to the area with the Burntrap ending you want to make your way to Roxy Raceway. 

When you enter go left and take the stairs down, go towards the area where we got the robot head. On the left side of the room there is a red door, this is the door we need to go through. Go through the Monty gate and Chica gate and you will come to an elevator. As soon as you press the button to go down there is no going back, you will not be able to return to the Pizzaplex. The game will autosave once the elevator gets to the bottom floor.

Now you will find you are in a cave looking area with generators. If you didn’t bring Freddy with you then call him down. There are seven generators in this area you need to activate to open the doors to the Pizzeria. The first one will be to your right as you get off the elevator. The second will be forwards to the left. Continue forwards and you will find the next two generators but DO NOT TURN THEM ON!! Turning these on will activate the endos hanging next to them and makes the next part extremely difficult. 

Instead go past them into the large area where the security bot is patrolling. These three generators in front of the Pizzeria can be activated without turning on the endos. You can activate the two closest generators easily, just watch the security bot to make sure it won’t see you. Then wait for an opening in the security bot’s pathing and run forwards to activate the generator in front of the doors. Then run back to the two generators we just activated. Now call Freddy to you and make sure you can easily hop in. Freddy will be our escape from the endos here shortly. 

Something to note is that you can stun endos with the Fazer Blaster or Faz Cam. When stunned they will change to their inactive position, but when the stun is over they will be active again. This can be difficult to use because the stun doesn’t last that long, but will buy you a few seconds if needed. Go down to the first generator we saw next to an endo and position yourself to easily look at the endo after turning the generator on. Then activate the generator and quickly look at the endo as it drops down to the floor and turns on. Make sure to keep your distance because if you touch the endo it will kill you even if you are looking at it. 

Carefully walk backwards towards the Pizzeria and get next to the other generator. Look down at both endos then quickly turn left, turn on the generator, and turn back to the endos. Now you can either continue walking backwards and hop into Freddy, or stun them both with the Faz Cam and quickly hop into Freddy. Once in Freddy you will be safe and can enter the Pizzaria. Inside there are two more generators, activating these will turn on the charging station in the Pizzeria. The second generator will be to the right when you enter the main area of the Pizzaria. I recommend recharging Freddy if you only have 2 or 3 bars of battery left.  

For this next part you must be in Freddy or you will die, so hop in and proceed down the giant hole in the floor. When you get to the bottom you will see a sleeping Molten Freddy and some boards. If you are not in Freddy at this part you get killed by Molten Freddy. Continue to the boards on the ground and you will fall into another room. Now the game with Burntrap will begin! Note that if you die during this part you restart at the elevator. 

Burntrap

You are introduced to Burntrap’s mechanic right away as he tries to hack Freddy. To stop him you must find which of the three cameras he is on and press the button to burn him. This will cause Burntrap to immediately stop hacking and then he will move to another room. To win the game you must burn him seven times, not including the first time we burn him after the cinematic. It will take Burntrap 30 seconds to take over Freddy, if he does then it is game over. 

As time passes you can watch the three monitors to keep track of Burntrap as you can see him leave and enter the rooms. You can also see Burntrap moving if you look down the hallway as the doors will open when he passes by. You cannot burn him as soon as he enters a room though, you must wait for him to be hacking. Whenever Burntrap starts hacking you will hear a hacking sound and Freddy will start glitching out. 

I wan to briefly explain how Burtrap’s pathing works. He will start in the middle room and from there he can go to the left or the right. When he goes to the bottom right of the middle camera he is moving right, if he goes up through the door he is going left. If you burn him in the left camera he will always go back to the middle room. If you burn him on the right camera he will also always go back to the middle room. But if you burn him in the middle room he can go left or right. Burntrap must always physically travel to each room to hack, and he cannot teleport. With this knowledge you can easily keep track of him throughout the night.

There is one big bug you must be aware of, as this can lose you the game. If Freddy is recharging, and Burntrap starts hacking him, the hacking sound will not play! I highly recommend closely monitoring the cameras while Freddy recharges. If you see Burntrap with his hand outstretched to the monitor then he is hacking. But why would Freddy need to recharge? Well we need to use him to deal with two threats, and using Freddy will drain his battery. But more on that later.

Chica

Chica can spawn in the left or right hallway and will make her way to the room. You must close the door before she enters or she will get in the room and never leave until she gets you. You don’t want to close the doors for too long though because they have limited power, and you do not want to run out of power. Freddy will warn you the first time Chica spawns, but after that it is up to you to pay attention. While Chica will make loud noises when she is approaching, you will only hear her when she is close to the door. 

If Chica sees you then she will start sprinting, so waiting until you can hear her can be risky. One trick is to check a hallway, and if she is not there you know she is in the other hallway. This allows you to close the door without looking down and triggering Chica to run. If Chica does get too close you can always stun her with the Faz Cam or Fazer Blaster. When you close the door Chica will pound on it and then run away. You can open the door as soon as she turns around, she will not come back until she spawns again.

Monty

Monty is here too to make Gregory’s day! In the top middle of the room there is a vent, this is where Monty will approach from. As soon as you hear his growling he is approaching. You must close the vent before he reaches the room or he will drop in and chase you until he catches you. The difficulty with Monty is you cannot tell how close he is because you cannot see into the vent. I recommend listening to his hand steps and close it after hearing him step four times. 

If you are unsure though you can always close the vent early. When you hear Monty stop moving that means he has reached the vent and there will be a short silence. Then he will turn around and start moving again, you can open the vent as soon as he starts moving away. If Monty does get in the room you can stun him with the Faz Cam or Fazer Blaster to try and buy some time so you can win the game. There is a trick you can do to survive an animatronic getting into your room which I will go into later. 

Monty Comes from the Vent Burntrap Guide

Freddy

Freddy will work a lot different during this part of the game. When you hop in Freddy you can only use him for 10 seconds before he will kick you out, and run to the nearest charge station. While charging you cannot use him to hide from incoming threats so you will have to be careful. You also cannot hear Burntrap hacking Freddy, as I mentioned earlier, so you will need to closely watch the cameras. 

This 10 second timer will carry over if you do not use him for the full 10 seconds. For example if you hop in for 4 seconds then the next time you hop in you can only use Freddy for 6 seconds before he has to recharge. I recommend always using Freddy for the full 10 seconds when you need him, that way he will always be recharged for the next threat. 

Be warned that if Burntrap starts hacking Freddy while you are in him, you will immediately be kicked out. This can be deadly in certain situations, so be ready to run if this happens. Quickly identify which monitor Burntrap is on, press the button, then hop back in Freddy to deal with the threat. You can still call Freddy with the call Freddy button, so use this to reposition him or bring him closer if needed. 

Roxy

Roxy will be the hardest threat to deal with because she is the buggiest. When you hear Roxy crying she will be approaching from one of the hallways. You cannot close the door to block her like with Chica. If you try then Roxy will slam the door and it will open for her, so it is a waste of battery. As soon as Roxy enters the room she will start running around, and this is where her behavior is odd. 

Sometimes Roxy will follow you precisely like she can see you. Other times she runs around randomly like she has no idea where you are. To get rid of Roxy you need to jump in Freddy and use Chica’s voice to scare her away. The best way to get rid of Roxy without running out of battery is to watch the hallway she will enter from. As soon as you see her jump into Freddy and use Chica’s voice box. While this is simple, there are a few bugs and situations you must know about that make doing this much harder.

The first, and most deadly, bug is that if Roxy is right on you when you enter Freddy, you will be immediately kicked out of Freddy. This can also happen if Roxy runs right in front of Freddy shortly after you get in. In most cases there seems to be a small window of immunity where you can run away from Roxy and not die when you get kicked out like this. But I have also had Roxy kill me as soon as I get kicked out, so it really is a 50/50 chance of survival. 

If this happens you should try and run in a circle around Freddy, then hop back in. Be warned the bug can trigger multiple times, and then Freddy’s battery will run out and he has to recharge. Something else you can do is hide between the bed and the wall, as this is a safe spot from all animatronics. Then call Freddy to you and try to hop in so Roxy will not be near Freddy. This will allow you to safely use Chica’s voice box to scare her off. 

The second bug is that Chica’s voice box will not scare off Roxy if you are too close to her. This one is more rare but it can happen and it is very bad when it does. The reason it is bad is because you can only use Chica’s voice once per charge, so you will need to survive Roxy and wait for Freddy to fully recharge before you can try again. Oh and also you need to make sure Burntrap isn’t hacking Freddy while he recharges! 

Next I want to talk about a scenario that can happen. Sometimes Burntrap will hack Freddy right when Roxy enters the room, or shortly after. I recommend checking the cameras as soon as you hear Roxy to see where Burntrap is. If he is in a room he will probably start hacking soon. Be ready to slam the button as soon as you hear the hacking sounds. If he does not hack then you can either jump in Freddy and try to scare Roxy, or you can hide between the wall and bed. As soon as Burntrap starts hacking you need to have an idea of how Roxy is moving. Then run in a way where you can press the button and hop into Freddy without getting caught by Roxy. 

The last thing I want to mention about Roxy is that it is possible for her to get stuck in the charge station. One time Freddy came out of the charger as Roxy entered the room, and she ran right into the charging station! The door closed behind Freddy and she got stuck in there for the rest of the game. While hilarious I am not sure how repeatable this is. 

Molten Freddy

A brand new threat is Molten Freddy who did not work when the game first came out. Look around the room and you will see circular vents on the floor and ceiling. These are where Molten Freddy’s tentacles will pop out from. You can tell Molten Freddy is about to come because you will hear this long, low growling or rumbling sound. Shortly after that sound the vent that you are closest to will pop open as a tentacle comes out. 

These tentacles are Molten Freddy looking for you, and if one touches you it is game over. The tentacle will slowly rotate around as it searches for you. It is possible to walk around them as long as you do not touch them. As time passes more and more tentacles will spawn until the entire room is filled. Each time one spawns Molten Freddy chooses the closest vent to you. To make Molten Freddy go away you can hide in Freddy. Doing so will make all the tentacles in the room retreat.

The best way to handle Molten Freddy is to hop in Freddy as soon as the first tentacle spawns. This will instantly make Molten Freddy’s search be over so there is no risk of death. You don’t even have to be Freddy that long, if you hop in and hop out the tentacles will still go away. The real danger happens if Freddy is recharging, or Burntrap hacks Freddy when Molten Freddy spawns. To survive the first tentacle I recommend staying near one of the hallway doors. 

These are both out of reach for them so you will be safe. If Burntrap is hacking you will want to crouch walk to the monitors to figure out where he is. Be very careful as there are several tentacle spawns right next to the monitors. If there is a tentacle in front of the button you need to press, wait for it to rotate away. Remember that you can always call Freddy to you if he is in a dangerous position. Then you can safely hop in and Molten Freddy will go away. 

One thing I want to mention is that the vent covers go flying when the tentacles spawn in. I had one game where the vent cover actually got lodged in the door. This prevented any animatronic from entering through the right hallway as they would get stuck on the vent cover. Unfortunately my recording of this got corrupted, but I wanted to mention it on the slim chance you experience this too. I tried recreating this by standing near the hallway doors but was unable to. I have also seen that sometimes the vent can get caught on the tentacle and drag it to the floor so it moves awkwardly, so look out for that.

How to Make it Easy

While the Burntrap sequence can be quite the challenge to beat, there are some tricks you can do to make things easier. There is one safe spot in the room from all animatronics. In this spot Chica, Monty, and Roxy cannot reach you. This safe spot is between the bed and the wall in the back of the room. Be warned that the corner is not safe though, you can be reached there! 

You want to make sure to be directly in the middle side of the bed where you are wedged between the wall and bed. This allows you to use this spot as a safe haven if you need to wait for Roxy to reposition yourself, but also if Chica or Monty get in the room. This spot is not great against Molten Freddy though because one tentacle is above the bed and can get you. 

So what is the big deal about staying safe? Well, only one threat can spawn at a time not including Burntrap. This means if Chica is in the room then Monty, Roxy, and Molten Freddy cannot spawn. To make this part super easy you can let Chica or Monty enter the room. The reason I chose these two is because you can stun them with the Fazer Blaster and Faz Cam. 

Then you can just chill by the bed until Freddy starts getting hacked. This will be the hardest part of the strategy. Depending on how close Chica or Monty is you will need to stun them, run past the monitors to check where Burntrap is, stun them again, then burn Burntrap. 

To stay alive with Monty or Chica in the room you must always be moving while not in the safe spot. Remember to always watch their movements, but in most cases you can just make big circles around the room to stay safe. If they ever get too close then just stun them. Remember that the only thing required to win is to burn Burntrap seven times. It does not matter if an animatronic is with you when the last burn happens because the game instantly cuts to the ending. I have tested this out with Chica, Monty, Roxy, and Molten Freddy to confirm you can win if they stay in the room. 

Keeping Roxy in the room is riskier since her movements aren’t always predictable. As for Molten Freddy, he can be an easy threat to keep in the room. You just need to make sure to stay away from the tentacles as it is easy to instantly die to them. So that is why I recommend Chica or Monty if you want to use this strategy.
